Why I Write

I didn’t start WebHostingReviewPlanet.com because I wanted another generic “top 10 hosting” website. I started it out of pure frustration after spending years building and managing websites across countless hosting providers. The deeper I got into the industry, the more I realized how difficult it was to find honest information. Every hosting company claimed to be the best. Every review site ranked whoever paid the biggest commission at the top. Meanwhile, real customers were left dealing with constant price hikes, hidden fees, confusing limitations, and support that often disappeared the moment you became a customer.

Over time, things only became worse. Hosting companies began normalizing aggressive renewal pricing where a cheap introductory plan suddenly doubled or tripled in cost after the first year. Features that should already be standard became extra paid add-ons. SSL certificates — something essential for modern websites and freely available through services like Let’s Encrypt — were still being sold to unsuspecting beginners for unnecessary yearly fees. Backups became premium upgrades. Email became an upsell. Security became an upsell. Even basic performance features started getting locked behind higher-priced plans.

At the same time, the industry became more complicated. New regulations, changing privacy requirements, increasing security standards, and evolving technologies made website ownership harder for regular people to navigate. Yet instead of simplifying things, many hosting companies used the confusion to introduce more fees, more restrictions, and more aggressive upselling. Website owners would sign up expecting one monthly price and slowly discover additional costs everywhere.

That’s why I continue writing this blog. I want regular website owners, small businesses, bloggers, and developers to have access to honest information before spending their money. I want people to understand what they’re really getting into before migrating a site, buying a hosting plan, or locking themselves into long-term contracts. I believe web hosting should be transparent, fairly priced, and beginner-friendly — not a maze of hidden costs and marketing tricks.

WebHostingReviewPlanet.com exists because I got tired of seeing people overpay, get surprised by renewals, struggle with poor support, and waste time moving between bad hosts. After building websites for more than a decade, I’ve learned where companies cut corners, where they overcharge, and which hosting providers genuinely offer value. My goal is simple: give people the kind of honest advice I wish I had years ago before spending thousands of dollars testing hosting companies myself.
